SEP 21: EMMYS; A BRONX TALE (LAST SHOWS, WADSWORTH); YOGA FEST, LMU; INTL DAY OF PEACE, GRIFFITH PARK; OBAMA PARTIES; EMERGING CINEMATOGRAPHERS, DGA

Here is a list of selected events recommended by The LA Report for September 21, 2008 (Happy Fall Equinox!):

The 60th annual EMMY AWARDS takes place at 5PM
at NOKIA LIVE downtown LA (the Emmys' new venue, replacing the Shrine).
Broadcast live to the East Coast on ABC, 8pm. Big favorite: AMC's hit "Mad Men."

"A BRONX TALE" starring its creator CHAZZ PALMINTERI
is having its LAST PERFORMANCES TODAY
at the WADSWORTH THEATRE in Brentwood.

Want some free and healthy fun in the Marina/SouthBay area?
Go to the all-day YOGA EVENT at LMU (Loyola Marymount University).
FREE exhibits (around 100 in all) on Alumni Mall, from 9am to 7pm --
plus a GLOBAL MALA benefit just north of the exhibits, with talks, etc.
Take Lincoln Blvd; just south of Jefferson, go East on LMU DRIVE
and talk to the info kiosk to get directions to the on-campus event and a map.

Today is the INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

International Day of Peace - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Day of Peace is on September 21st of each year and calls for a full day of peace and ceasefire throughout the world.
One of the big events in LA runs today from 11 to 5pm at GRIFFITH PARK
near the Merry Go Round, and involves Jane Goodall.
HOSTED BY KEELY AND PIERCE BROSNAN. Join the festivities: live music, arts and crafts, celebrity speakers and more! The local "Hot Moms Club" will host an "EcoFabulous" fashion show featuring celebrity moms and the latest in green fashion and peace accessories. There will be music by Cord with Rami Jaffee of the Foo Fighters; Leather Souls; Foshay High School Band; Danza Xochipilli; and Tumi Ansa and the Bottom Tree Band. This event is free and open to the public.

EMERGING CINEMATOGRAPHERS at the DGA. ECA Awards 9/21
The Emerging Cinematographer Awards will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the Directors Guild of America. The afternoon begins at 5 p.m. with the Awards presentations and Screening program, followed immediately by a cocktail reception. For further info and ticket prices, please visit www.cameraguild.com or www.ecawards.net

If you are in a volunteer/politics mood, try one of the LA OBAMA PARTIES.
Most start at 2pm. Goal: talk to voters in "swing states" and bend their ear about Obama.
So if you like talking to swingers, find a party in your area: www.barackobama.com
