BELUSHI's BROWS & BRANDO: John Belushi's 1st SNL Audition
John Belushi was born 61 years ago this month. In tribute, we'd like to share (via YouTube) the first audition John did for the program then known as "Saturday Night" (now Saturday Night Live, or SNL). His eyebrow prowess, plus spot-on impressions of Marlon Brando and Rod Steiger, are featured in the clip, showing the raw talent that was soon to explode on national late night television.
Another January/Belushi milestone of note, courtesy of Wikipedia: "...on John's 30th birthday (in 1979), he had the number one film in the U.S. (Animal House), the number one album in the U.S. (The Blues Brothers:Briefcase Full of Blues) and Saturday Night Live was the highest-rated late night television program." Quite a feat. And as far as I know, John Belushi is the only performer in history to have achieved this film-music-TV trifecta.
