TONIGHT June 17: Josh Clayton Benefit (Featured Event)

Tonight, Angelenos have a chance to spend Dad Day's Night helping a noble cause:

Josh Clayton-Felt, a musician/songwriter, died in 2000. A founder with Michael Ward of the 90's band 'School of Fish' ('Three Strange Days'), Clayton-Felt subsequently turned to the Descendants of the Earth as a spiritual home and his later songs reflect the Descendants' spiritual values. To support the Descendants, Clayton-Felt initiated a series of benefit concerts which, after his death, became an annual event sponsored and produced by The Descendants of the Earth in his honor.

This year’s benefit is being held at The Hotel CafĂ© on Father’s Day, June 17, at 7 p.m.  Please see invitation below.

Marilyn Felt, Josh's mother, an award winning playwright created 'Lightsong', an audio play based on Josh's life story (with a touch of magic) and containing a lot of his music. The theme of the play is how to live a meaningful life in concert with nature and the spiritual world while concurrently dealing with the hard choices available to musicians in a very commercial world. Lightsong has been professionally produced with the help of Josh's family and is available free of charge from the website www.lightsongplay.com and from iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/lightsong/id438331336).
