The LA Report recommends events put on by HRTS (Hollywood Radio & Television Society) - they are always informative and offer good networking opps. Plus, with the moderator being super-hot Disney CEO Bob Iger, fresh off his multi-billion-dollar acquisition of Marvel, there is a good chance he can loan you a buck for parking.
