EVENT REPORT: STEVE MILLER BAND DVD/CD BOXSET LAUNCH PARTY AT CITIZEN SMITH

(October 7, 2007 - Hollywood, CA) Event Report by Don Rose

A lively crowd of music mavens, musicians, media, VIPs, models, celebs and Steve Miller himself packed into hot hang Citizen Smith to celebrate the upcoming release of The Joker's 3 disc DVD/CD live music boxset. After a screening of the "Live in Chicago" performance and a Q&A at the Mann Chinese 6 theatre (one attendee said it was like being at a Steve Miller concert, or better), guests make the trek to Citizen Smith to celebrate. The club on Caheunga is known as a hip Hollywood hotspot, so it was not surprising to see the high coolness factor at the venue for this night, including "Showbiz Show" host David Spade, who held court in an outside booth at the soiree, while Mr. Miller and his friends occupied a private booth deep within the club's VIP area.

The drinks followed plentifully, and the passed-around appetizers were delicious, including mac-and-cheese fritter balls, mini pizzas, and salmon mousse on cucumber. The music spun at the party kept the jovial mood flowing, and then they finally played a song by the guest of honor, "Take the Money and Run." (About time, Ms. DJ!)

All around, a great party, one of several excellent shindigs that PR firm Aline Media has been throwing all over town lately (such as recent hosted parties at Hollys West, a great eatery/bar at 2460 Wilshire in Santa Monica); special thanks to Jennifer at Aline for her always-amiable assistance.
