SOCAL FIRES: UCLA HILLEL MESSAGE, DONATION/VOLUNTEER INFO

A message from Rabbi Chaim Seidler-Feller and the staff at Hillel at UCLA:

This week has been a tragic one in Southern California. Our hearts go out to all those who have lost their homes, their memories, and their possessions and to all those who have experienced the trauma and threat of displacement. Please accept Hillel's extended hand of love and care. If there is anything we can do for you please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are now involved in a campaign to raise funds for the victims of the fire and to give students the opportunity to take part in local Red Cross efforts:

Monetary donations are needed and welcome. To donate to the Fire Emergency Relief Fund: call (323) 761-8200 or send a check to The Jewish Federation, 6505 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles CA 90048, made payable to The Jewish Federation with the words “Fire Relief Fund” in the memo line. You can also make an emergency donation online by clicking here.

The Red Cross will need volunteers all day on Sunday helping clean rescue equipment that has been used in San Diego and Malibu. The address of the Red Cross is: 11355 Ohio Ave, Los Angeles, CA. (213) 739-5200. You can just stop by and pitch in.

Tomorrow night at Shabbat we are opening up our doors to students from San Diego who have evacuated to Los Angeles. Please join us as we welcome them.
