Fashion for the Cure takes place October 23, 2007 on the world-famous European-style cobblestone street of Two Rodeo in Beverly Hills, which will turn pink to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure

The 7th Annual “Fashion for the Cure,” a fashion and entertainment gala, takes place on Tuesday, October 23 at 7:30 pm. The gala’s special fashion segment, “Think Pink and Green,” will feature eco-friendly “green” designer's fashions. The runway will wind thru a wash of pink-lit buildings. Breast Cancer survivors, the real stars of the night, will model designs by Sash, Eco-Centric, Stacia and Not Your Daughter's Jeans. All proceeds from the evening will benefit Komen for the Cure Los Angeles County Affiliate.

Special guest Mariel Hemingway, author of the newly published book, "Healthy Living from the Inside Out: Every Woman's Guide to Beauty, Renewed Energy and Radiant Life," is one of the leading voices of women's health. Hemingway's daughter will fashionably participate as a "green" model on the runway. Lizanne Falsetto, international fashion model and CEO of Think Products will be guest emcee. The evening will be highlighted by a fashion show featuring Uber's models and the new couture collection of Los Angeles’ celebrity eco designer Deborah Lindquist. A surprise celebrity model will wear the all “ThinkThinPink Wrapper” dress designed by Lindquist, made from natural nutrition bar wrappers.

Fashion week, the Pret a Porter in Paris and for numerous eco-conscious benefit events. Deborah’s women’s collection combines environmental responsibility with a cutting-edge aesthetic. She works her fashion magic with a mixture of environmentally-friendly fabrications, including recycled cashmere, repurposed kimonos and saris, vintage silk scarves, and sustainable materials such as hemp, soy, and bamboo. The resulting designs are as striking as they are ecologically sensitive. As a trailblazer at the forefront of the stylish green clothing movement, Deborah is making an impact in the fashion world while remaining true to her love for the environment. Celebrity fans include Sharon Stone, Hayden Panetierre, Jessica Alba, Christina Aguilera, Carmen Electra and many more.

Featured Art Auction

Losing his grandmother to breast cancer several years ago, artist Phil Barnes of Northridge chose to be involved in Fashion for the Cure as a personal statement to the love of his family member. "I express deeply through my art where designing a piece for the branding and fundraising of the event is truly quite an honor and act of my compassion," comments Phil. His acrylic painting dedicated to the event, "One Love" which will be auctioned off at the event, represents the victorious, healing, yet feminine essence of those affected by breast cancer.
